Help Make an Elderly Person’s Day Better!
About the Project
You are invited to join the collaboration between Shabbat Metukah and Leket Israel to help bring some joy to Israel’s elderly population!
This project works to meet basic needs of housebound elderly by providing them with food and alleviating their loneliness.
How does it work? Encourage your children to draw a picture or write a letter for someone in need. We will take their submission and add it into the parcels that we distribute each Thursday and Friday, you will be putting a smile on their faces and warm their hearts ❤.
About Shabbat Metukah
The Shabbat Metukah project was created two years ago during the height of Covid-19, to support the elderly and Holocaust survivors who were unable to leave their homes and suffered from a lack social interaction.
The project depends on volunteers to come every week to pack the parcels with fresh fruit and vegetables, challah, candles for shabbat and other basic necessities. After the packing, the volunteers deliver the boxes to nursing homes and spend time with the recipients ensuring they have some quality time together.
