Iris, a 49-year-old single mother of nine, has been receiving food from Leket Israel’s nonprofit partner, Bet Nehriya in Nahariya (northern Israel) for almost a decade. Days after her youngest child was born, Iris made the courageous decision to leave her abusive husband, refusing any financial support from him. Left alone, with so many children to feed, Iris turned to Roni, the Director of Bet Nehriya, for assistance.
