In March, Leket Israel was delighted to partner with OurCrowd, an equity crowdfunding platform to invest in startups, for their annual Global Investor Summit, where startups and venture capitalists from around the world come to discuss and invest in new ideas. 18,000 people converged upon Jerusalem to attend the conference.
The theme of the conference was “Startups: Making a Global Impact.” The agenda highlighted the power of breakthrough technologies in making a difference all over the world. Throughout the day, the Leket staff greeted new and old friends at the Leket Israel booth. In keeping with the theme, OurCrowd generously donated all of the surplus food from the conference to Leket Israel, to be distributed to nonprofits in and around Jerusalem. At the end of the day, Leket Israel rescued enough food to feed 200 people in need for Shabbat.
