Meet Bella, 37, a single mother to three beautiful young boys. Through Leket Israel’s food rescue operation, Bella receives nutritious meals and fresh produce from a local distribution center in Netanya. After emigrating from Russia in 1979, Bella built a new life for herself in Israel, but faced significant financial and cultural hardships. Bella currently receives welfare from the Israeli government and works as a cashier at a local market, but unfortunately, this is not enough.
“It is extraordinarily difficult to raise three children all alone, without a steady income. Were it not for this consistent, reliable supply of healthy, nutritious produce, my children would not be eating any fruits and vegetables. They are too expensive. In addition, the meals provide my boys with the adequate nutrition that they need to grow into healthy young men. The food provides invaluable relief for my children and me. Thank you Leket Israel,” concluded Bella.
With a diverse network of 195 non-profit partners, Leket Israel is supplying healthy rescued food to the weakest sectors of Israel’s population to ensure that no one is overlooked, that no one is passed over.
