Hamantaschen Recipe

Dough:

1 cup of whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon of baking powder

½ teaspoon of baking soda

1 cup of quick cooking oats

2 tablespoons of brown sugar

2 tablespoons of silan (date honey)

1 egg

3 tablespoons of tehina with whole sesame seeds

¼ cup of canola oil

¼ cup or water (add more if needed)

Mix everything well and store in refrigerator until time to fill.

Fillings:

Dried Fruit

1 cup of dried fruit (any kind) chopped and soaked in boiling water for 5 minutes

Grated orange peel

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

½ cup of chopped walnuts

Poppy Seed

½ cup of ground poppy seeds

3 tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons of silan (date honey)

Chocolate

One package of 70% cocoa dark chocolate

Place a square of chocolate in the center of the

Directions:

  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to ¼ of an inch
  •  Cut out circles with a cookie cutter or cup
  • Place a small amount of filling in the center of each dough circle, fold into a triangle and fasten tightly
  • Place in a pan lined with a baking sheet
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 230f for 20 minutes
  • You can sprinkle powdered sugar or cinnamon on the top before serving, if you want
